The main objective of the Monitoring of Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) is to improve the capacities of the national and regional Institutions of the ECOWAS region including Mauritania and Chad, devoted to the management of environment, in order to do a better usage of the earth observation datas for best water control and a more effective management of agriculture and breeding. This project totalling 2.500.000 euros involves the fourteen countries of ECOWAS namely: Benin, Burkina Faso ,Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia ,Mali, Niger, Nigeria ,Senegal ,Sierra Leone ,Togo including Mauritania and Chad
